Angel by Thierry Mugler Perfume Review
The earthy scent of rain on dry soil transports me back to my parents home in Kerala. I still smell the night blooming jasmine that used to be in our backyard. Javadhu(a traditional herbal powder fragrance) takes me to the joyful times that I spent with my grandmother. I associate fragrances with emotions, locations and memories. The only perfumes that I knew growing up were the traditional perfume versions of herbs, florals including jasmine, rose, sandalwood etc.
The number of perfumes that one can have is a personal choice. I believe in perfumes for occasion.
Let me introduce you to my sexy sassy companion – Thierry Mugler Angel
Angel is a designer perfume made by the design house of Thierry Mugler in 1992. Angel is categorised as a Oriental Vanilla perfume. This is a modern classic gourmand fragrance. It is widely considered to be the first gourmand fragrance which jump started the gourmand family of perfumes.
bergamot, pineapple and red berries
nutmeg and cumin
praline, tonka bean, vanilla, patchouli and sandalwood
Most Effective Skin care Routine and How to identify your skin type.
Skin health is important. Prevent skin care problems now rather than deal with unhealthy skin issues later.
Identifying your skin type is important for finding the best skin care regime and the most suited products for your skin.
Understand your skin type- Is it oily?Is it normal? Is it dry? Or a combination of both- oily nose, dry elsewhere? Is it sensitive? Is it acne-prone?
Follow the described tissue method to identify your skin type. Cleanse your face and wait for an hour or two. Take a single ply tissue*(one layer of paper tissue) and dab on different areas of your face- nose, forehead, chin, cheeks, eyelids using different areas of the tissue. If you see grease/oil everywhere in the tissue, you have an oily face. If oil is present in only certain areas of your skin, you have a combination skin. If the skin feels tight and stretched, you have a dry skin. If there is no oil, and your skin is still smooth you are blessed with a normal skin.
*- Note that most tissues have to be separated out to make it a single ply.
You have a sensitive skin if it reacts to regular skin products. In this case, be wary of the products that you use on your skin. Always do a patch test before applying to the whole skin.
Every person’s skin is different. If something works amazingly on someone else’s skin and it doesn’t work on you; do not hesitate to ditch it and move on.
Now off to the steps to take care of your skin…
Hope you all have decided upon your New Year’s Eve Plans and New Year Resolutions. 🙂
This time I did an acrylic paint nail art- multicolcor pebbles nail art.

This is what happens when I go to Bugis alone ! 🙂 I was in the mood for some ‘Shopping therapy’ and got my hands on a few products from NYX.
French Manicure Ombre Nail Art Tutorial
Most of you would be familiar with the ombre nail art- ‘the manicure with a color gradient’. This time I tried a french manicure ombre nail art with a bright neon pink color as the combination.
Read on to know how to recreate this..
I recently decided to try an eyeliner pen after being obsessed with gel eyeliners for so long. I was looking for essentially a quick fix to keep in my vanity purse, instead of the bulkier ‘eyeliner brush and bottle’ every time for a touch up. There are quite a few eyeliner pens, which makes the decision making a lot more complex. Anyways, I got my hands on one of the affordable ones available here to start with- Australis Tiny Tip eyeliner pen(Carbon Black). Australis is an Australian cosmetics brand that is available in Singapore.
Price: SGD 12.90 (got it on offer at 8 SGD)
Ayur Herbals Astringent with Aloe Vera Review
I will be reviewing a product which I have been using for a long time. The best element about this product is that it is quite cheap and effective. Astringents work by causing the body tissue to shrink and control secretions. In cosmetics, astringents are widely used by those with oily and acne prone skin to close the pores and to control the condition. One of the very popular products in India- Piramal Healthcare’s Lacto Calamine(classic) has astringent properties. I will hopefully take up the Piramal Healthcare’s Lacto Calmine for review in the future. But, today’s review is on another product which is advertised as an astringent itself- Ayur Herbals Astringent with Aloe Vera.
An astringent is meant for oily skin and this review is only from that perspective.
Price: 50 INR for 100ml
About the Product:
It’s 2016 Feb and I have been missing my blog for sometime now. I realise that I haven’t done a product review in a long time; though I have been buying/hoarding stuff like there is no tomorrow! So I’ll start off with the review of a lip balm- Himalaya Intensive Moisturizing Cocoa Butter Lip Balm .
As it usually happens, I misplaced my lip balms and couldn’t find them for a few days [I have about 3-4 lip balms]. I love lip balms and always take them around with me – which also results in me losing them often 🙂 . I can’t even seem to find one when the time comes! Does that ever happen to you? Anyway I finally decided to buy one(more :P). Thus came Himalaya Intensive Moisturizing Cocoa Butter Lip Balm into my possession.
